Lakshmi

Lakshmi Sathyanarayana

Lakshmi is the founding member and CEO of the Home for Learning Foundation.She is an entrepreneur and a well accomplished Realtor in the San Francisco Bay Area. Lakshmi loves music and uses it to bring members of her community together in order to raise money for causes she is passionate about
Dedicated to helping the less fortunate, Lakshmi spearheaded Home For Learning in 2020, a non-profit that galvanizes educational opportunities and funds living expenses for disadvantaged youth in India who don’t fit the traditional school system due to poverty and learning disabilities. Lakshmi truly leads with her heart and is a devoted campaigner who has raised over $700K for various non-profits.
Based in the Peninsula with her husband, Dr.Das Mohan, a Radiation Oncologist, the duo adores their proximity to the coastline and can be found hiking, kayaking, and enjoying outdoor activities on their days off.

Dr. Harish C. Mohan

Dr. Harish C. Mohan is a research scientist, software professional and an entrepreneur. He is currently working for Berkeley Labs. Harish did his initial schooling in Bangalore, India. His alma maters include National College, Bangalore University, Indian Institute of Science and MIT. Harish has been associated with American Diabetes Association for several years. He is actively involved as a fundraiser, event organizer, team captain and participant in ADA’s Tour de Cure events. Harish’s passion is also in providing quality educational opportunities for underprivileged children. In his role as Chief Financial Officer with Home for Learning Foundation, Harish aims to maximize generation and efficient utilization of the foundation funds to help children’s education.
Harish is a nature lover and enjoys jogging, biking, hiking and travel.Harish lives with his wife in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Dr. Vinay Shamasundara

Dr Vinay Shamasundara functions as Secretary of Home for Learning Foundation, Inc.
He is a practicing physician with expertise in primary care, virtual care, and hospital-based care. He completed residency in Internal Medicine at University of Southern California/LAC+USC Medical Center, and holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.D. from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University.
Dr Shamasundara resides in Los Angeles, CA, USA. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his loved ones, staying active, screen time, reading, writing, dining out, and traveling.

Vishwanand Pattanashetty

Throughout the course of his multinational career, Vishwanand has lead teams in strategy, finance, IT, public speaking, and leadership skills.
As a coach and mentor to hundreds of professionals in the San Francisco Bay Area, Vish has given keynote speeches at many of Silicon Valley’s top firms, including Yahoo, Cisco, and HP. He has also mentored speaking clubs at Google and the Wharton Alumni Group
Vish holds both Electrical Engineering and MBA degrees. Some of his hobbies include improv and standup comedy, theatre, multimedia graphics, and writing.

Ramesh Javagal

Ramesh Javagal

Ramesh Javagal, a software engineer by profession, has been engaged in community service and supporting non-profit organizations for 15+ years in various capacities.
In 2006, he started the program Kannada Kali (under the umbrella of Kannada Koota of Northern California) which focuses on introducing students in the Bay Area to the Kannada language. Over the years, the program has grown to over 500 students during each academic year across 3 branches. Ramesh also serves on the executive committee for One School At A Time (OSAAT), an organization aiming to rebuild infrastructure of schools in rural regions in India. He has been involved in numerous fundraising efforts, including the introduction of a Dandiya fundraiser in the Tri-Valley Area to raise awareness and funds for OSAAT. Ramesh is passionate about providing quality education and resources to underserved students. He believes in the importance of teamwork, dedication and commitment in all his endeavors.
He lives in San Ramon, California with his wife Rathna and children Raksha and Kishan.

Shreyas Nagaraj

Shreyas is excited to join the Home For Learning board as he strongly believes in its vision of using education as a means to empower children. He currently works as a financial analyst in the SF Bay Area and holds an Economics degree from the University of Edinburgh. During his spare time, Shreyas enjoys biking, skiing, and cooking.
